Parks Canada and the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne engaged NVision to provide consulting services for the development of the Landon Bay Learn-to-Hub project at Thousand Islands National Park. This initiative aims to transform Landons Bay into a cultural and educational hub centered around Indigenous storytelling, featuring a new cantilevered lookout trail as its signature hiking experience. NVision led the Indigenous engagement and design process, incorporating the Mohawk community's preferred story, the Thanksgiving Address, into the site's interpretive elements. Two design options for an Indigenous Gathering Space were developed, providing venues for both private and public programming. The project supports long-term partnerships with local organizations, including the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Foundation (FABF), Frontenac Arch Biosphere Network (FABN), and the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne. The Learn-to-Hub will host events such as Learn-to-Camp and Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations, fostering cultural exchange and environmental stewardship. Collaborators: RM+ASH Architects and Stantec
