Truth & Reconciliation

We believe that reconciliation can be transformational when willing Canadians take the time to listen to Indigenous perspectives and history.

By unlearning cultural biases and stereotypes, they can move forward with meaningful commitments that contribute to systemic change.

Reconciliation Readiness

This includes internal and external assessments.

Internally, NVision calls this a Reconciliation Readiness Analysis which is a tool to determine organizational readiness and capacity to undertake reconciliation and determine where your organization falls along a spectrum of preparedness in seven key areas: Organizational commitment to reconciliation, Organizational climate and culture for reconciliation, Governance, Operations, Programs and Initiatives, Indigenous Relationships and Engagement, and Performance, Reporting and Accountability.

Externally, this is called a Mapping the Landscape document; an optional primer/background document which outlines the history of Indigenous peoples in the client’s sector or geographical location, including history of, and current client relationship/ partnerships with, Indigenous peoples, communities, and governments.

Reconciliation Strategy Development

NVision’s goal for clients is organizational transformation, which is a long-term process. NVision will ensure that your Reconciliation strategy does not ‘sit on a shelf’ but is integrated into existing strategic plans. A Reconciliation strategy will include Indigenous elements, perspectives, and processes.

The following elements are available:

  • Reconciliation Framework which is the roadmap, guiding principles, long-term vision for and approach to reconciliation, within which the rest of the strategy will align
  • Alignment with foundational Truth and Reconciliation reports
  • Comprehensive review of organizational vision, mission and values
  • Creating actionable goals and objectives
  • Accountability, KPI, Evaluation and Measurements
  • Implementation Plans
  • Communications Plans
