Elena Abel

Elena (Shawongonabe) Abel is an eLearning Designer and Intermediate Consultant with NVision, specializing in the creation of culturally grounded online learning. She was a key contributor to the 2023 redesign of The Path: Your Journey through Indigenous Canada, an online course that has reached over 40,000 learners nationwide. She has also led the development of courses supporting key services for the Government of Nunavut.

With academic training in public administration, Indigenous policy, and instructional design—alongside creative pursuits in graphic design and jewelry-making—Elena blends technical expertise with creative storytelling. She is a proud member of M'Chigeeng First Nation and lives on unceded Algonquin territory with her family.
