Lands Studio

Design and planning to celebrate your relationship to the land from an Indigenous perspective.
The Lands Studio is your partner in Indigenous parks, land use documentation, Indigenous landscape and community space planning, communication and engagement, graphic design, mapping, and interpretive materials. Our work is done with you and for you—grounded in community direction and guided by respectful engagement. Every step of our process is rooted in listening, knowledge-sharing, and appreciation for diverse perspectives, with a clear focus on meaningful actions and measurable outcomes.
Indigenous Design Approach
NVision appreciates the importance of working closely and cooperatively with you. We acknowledge your expertise and understanding of the project at hand and actively involve you as a crucial member of our project team.
Our team practices co-design principles in our work. Our understanding of co-design is a collaborative process that is open to perspectives and inclusion of cross-cultural and interdisciplinary inputs at each stage of the work. This is so that both the process itself and the final design are informed by you. Our goal with co-design is to have Indigenous perspectives present in all elements of the program. Inclusion of these perspectives is achieved through a range of meeting types, including but not limited to structured in-person workshops, design charettes, project team review meetings, knowledge holder interviews, and design check-ins by email or virtual meetings.
Our Community Centered Approach is grounded in six principles:
- Vision & Aspirations
- Cultural Guiding Principles
- Engagement
- Understanding & Awareness
- Collaboration & Conceptualization
- Design & Action
