From Sagamok Anishnawbek, Valerie practiced community development for nearly 30 years with the Federal government, and has carried out fieldwork with Indigenous communities from Belize to the Arctic. A botanist, science blogger and research volunteer, she consults on environmental issues, linking traditional knowledge, communities, and science.
