Okalik Eegeesiak

A bilingual Inuk from Iqaluit, Nunavut, Okalik has chaired, represented, and worked with international, national, regional, and community boards and committees. She has also held senior management positions in both federal and territorial governments. With over 35 years of experience, her work has focused on the socio-economic conditions and aspirations of Inuit and Arctic communities.

Okalik has extensive knowledge in education and training, human resources, community development, language and culture, and communications. In addition to her long-standing advocacy for Inuit and Arctic communities, she is a highly regarded moderator and facilitator. Her fluency in Inuktut is a key asset in community engagement and dialogue.
