Elena Abel (she/her) has dedicated her career to work that celebrates, honours and supports First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples, with experience ranging from cultural programming in the non-profit and education sectors, to Indigenous relations in municipal government. She is passionate about creating opportunities for Indigenous communities by strengthening reconciliation efforts and building relationships. Elena has an Honours degree in Public Administration and Governance and is currently completing a graduate diploma in Indigenous Policy and Administration at Carleton University.
Although Elena grew up off-reserve, she is a proud member of M’Chigeeng First Nation and now lives on unceded Algonquin territory with her wife and two children.
